gsDroid has been replaced by Spark. Get it on Android Market, or visit site
gsDroid is a light XBox Live profile viewer for Android devices. It lists games and achievements, and provides status information on your XBox Live friends.
Information in gsDroid can be updated manually, or automatically (when enabled, it will refresh your data every 15 minutes or so).
You can get it by launching the Android Market on your Android device, and searching for gsDroid.
Alternatively, you can start by snapping the image to the right using the Android Barcode Scanner:
Alternatively, you can start by following this link.

Because that's the only way I can get the information. gsDroid retrieves your profile by logging on to the XBox Live site and scanning the site for pertinent information, such as your friends list, or your games, or achievements. This is also the reason why synchronization is slow - a very large part of what's fetched is not necessary (yet unavoidable).
Your account information is stored on your device, and never leaves it, except for authentication with the XBox Live site, over SSL. Whenever possible, gsDroid uses stored session data in form of cookies to avoid exchanging unnecessary information. Your login information is not sent anywhere else, and I don't use it to send spam, deposit money into Swiss banks, or to steal Recon armor.
If you have concerns, feel free to set up a network sniffer to monitor data exchange over WiFi - the app will not connect to any site your web browser wouldn't. Or just don't download the app.
The XBox Live API's are not available to the general public; this is only possible if one has access to the XBL API.
This can happen for two reasons: either your profile has not finished the initial synchronization, or the synchronization has failed for some reason (network outage, scanning error).
If the update has failed, and you have enabled automatic updates in Preferences, your profile will eventually resynchronize. Alternatively, you can force an update by opening the menu and pressing 'Refresh'. To determine the status of the last update, open Preferences. If there was at least one update, date and status will be displayed at the bottom.
Please note that the initial profile synchronization is a slow process, especially if you have a large list of games, achievements and/or friends. I recommend using a 3G or WiFi connection for the initial synch.
I'm considering this, but it will be done on a case-by-case basis, for each language. I will also need assistance in localizing the application for your region - if you're interested in assisting me, please drop me a note. Include the language that you would like to translate to, as well as the name of your locale (if you're unsure what this is, send me the URL to your XBox Live summary page).
You can look forward to a more streamlined application, such as update status (throbber or progress bar whenever the profile is being synchronized), bug fixes, improved system stability, and possibly other smaller features.
This freeware version of gsDroid is not likely to get significant new features; however, I do plan to release an inexpensive commercial version that will have things such as icons, avatars, friend messaging, and many other interesting features.
That said, this particular version will always remain free.
